Four things drive most of the cost: the physical size of the design, the level of detail (a simple outline costs far less than shaded realism), the placement on your body (ribs and joints take longer than flat areas like the forearm or calf), and the artist’s experience level for specialised work like portraits or fine line.
Small vs Large Pieces
Small, simple tattoos — a name, a small symbol, minimalist line work — are quicker sessions and priced accordingly. Larger custom pieces, half sleeves, and cover-ups involve multiple hours or multiple sessions, and pricing reflects that time investment plus the complexity of covering or reworking existing ink.

Two tattoos of the “same size” can take completely different amounts of time depending on shading, colour work, and linework density. Rather than lock you into a generic rate that doesn’t match your actual design, we quote after seeing your reference and discussing placement — so the price you’re given is the price you pay, with no surprises at the end of the session.
